Heading to La Crosse this weekend

Good News!

I was selected as one of 12 finalists for the Great River Folk Festival songwriting contest. That means I am heading to La Crosse this weekend to perform the two songs that I entered: “I’ll Go Along With You” and “Life is So Beautiful.” I’ll have a chance to give a brief introduction to the songs and then play them for the judges and audience. Judging is based on songwriting, instrumental performance, vocal performance and stage presence. I am excited about the opportunity to share these songs with a new audience. If I win one of the three top prizes, I will be thrilled, but I am pleased to go perform as a finalist.

Years ago, when I first started thinking about getting into performing professionally again, I attended the Great River Folk Festival and thoroughly enjoyed it. To find myself performing on a stage there this year is a wonderful marker of progress on my singer-songwriter journey.
